History

The boutique hotel was created by Gianni Maitan, an Italian engineer and award-winning wildlife photographer. After decades of travelling across Africa and photographing wildlife, he established the villa in Malindi to combine luxury hospitality with his passion for Kenya's landscapes and wildlife.

His photography has appeared in books, exhibitions, and international competitions, and the hotel reflects this conservation and photography theme.
