Sentrim Mara Camp

Sentrim Mara Lodge, commonly known as Sentrim Mara Camp, is a comfortable mid-range safari camp located near the Sekenani Gate of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. It combines a classic tented safari atmosphere with modern hotel-style facilities, making it popular with families, couples, and first-time safari visitors. 

1. Location & Accessibility

Location

  • Situated approximately 3 km from Sekenani Gate, one of the main entry points into the Maasai Mara. 

  • The camp sits among acacia woodland and open savannah landscapes, giving guests a genuine bush experience while remaining accessible. 

Getting there

  • By road: Nairobi → Narok → Sekenani Gate → Sentrim Mara. The drive is usually around 5–6 hours depending on road conditions and stops.

  • By air: Flights depart from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Mara airstrips such as Ol Kiombo, followed by a transfer to the camp.

  • Easy access to the reserve through Sekenani Gate.

  • Good base for exploring the central Mara plains.

While Sentrim Mara is not a fully unfenced luxury wilderness camp where animals commonly walk through the tents, its surroundings provide a strong bush atmosphere. Wildlife sightings are mainly experienced during guided game drives inside the reserve.
