Tawi Lodge

Tawi Lodge is a luxury eco-safari lodge located on a private conservancy bordering Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya. It is widely regarded as one of the finest boutique safari lodges in the Amboseli ecosystem, combining high-end accommodation, conservation, and authentic Maasai cultural experiences. Location

The lodge is situated approximately 5 minutes from Kimana Gate, the eastern entrance to Amboseli National Park. It lies within its own 3,000-acre private conservancy, allowing guests to enjoy exclusive wildlife experiences outside the national park while still having easy access to Amboseli's famous elephant herds. 

Getting There

Guests have several options:

  • By road: Around 5 hours from Nairobi.

  • By air: Daily scheduled flights from Nairobi's Wilson Airport to Amboseli Airstrip, followed by a short transfer.

  • By train: Take the SGR from Nairobi to Emali Station, then approximately a 2-hour road transfer arranged by the lodge. 

Accommodation

Tawi Lodge is intentionally small, creating an intimate atmosphere.

Best Time to Visit

  • April–May: Green season with fewer visitors, lush scenery, and lower rates.

  • November–December: Good birdwatching and pleasant landscapes after the short rains.
